Rob-J News March

Hello Friends,
it‘s March and we are all waiting for spring to arrive. The winter was long and important for me to get fit for the new season. I‘ve been training a lot in the gym doing crossfit, swimming and yoga. I cant tell how much I appreciate the fact that I feel strong and healthy again after last years knee injuries. I am now fit and highly motivated to ride, train and do good this year.
First of all I would like to announce a new sponsorship with my new bikewear-sponsor ION.
If you‘ve never heard of this brand before than you‘re probably not into surfing, kiting, or windsurfing. ION is a strong, innovatiove brand in these watersports with amazing high quality products and unique style. Since this brand is driven by people who are also riding bikes, it was a strong wish for the guys to step into the mountainbike market with their Munich based brand. I could not be happier that they have chosen me as their athlete to be involved deeply in product development from now on. In my 14 years as an MTB-athlete I think I made good experience with lots of bike gear. I am looking forward to be part of something new, with all my ideas and expertise to help the brand become an authentic member of our sport. The first collection for 2013 will be presented in

I couldnt stay at home all winter long. So I packed my bike and flew down south to La Palma in February. Together with the Crew of Atlantic Cycling, Andi Wittmann and Guido Tschugg we had such a blast riding those amazing trails.
Photographers Wolfgang Watzke and Thomas Dietze where with us as well and they took some first riding shots of us. Good times. Back home I switched the bike in my bike-travel-box to my roadbike and booked a last minute flight to Lanzarote. One day later I was back in the sun to ride in the wind for a week. I did not know that my buddy and FMB tour manager Tarek Rasouli flew the same day to Lanzarote as me to ride his hand bike and get fit. It was such a surprise when we met at the airport. Of course we went for some road rides together.

Photographer Markus Greber was followed by Canon during a day of shooting with us last fall. The production at Lake Garda was fun and very professional. Canon produced a movie for their 7D Camara. Watch it here:

As well I had a nice interview on Pinkbike a few weeks ago. Have a look here:

Some pictures and spotguides about Davos are going to be published in a few magazines around the globe within
the next weeks. I‘ve been there with photographer Hansueli Spitznagel last fall to explore one of the best MTB
resorts in the Alps. I am looking forward to be back there this summer.
