We are pleased to announce that the Court of Arbitration for Sport has upheld the appeal filed by Team Katusha and granted the team a World Tour licence for the 2013 season.
In December the Russian Global Cycling Project Team’s application for a licence was turned down despite second place in the world ranking for the team and first place for Joaquim “Purito“ Rodríguez in the individual rider standings. The Russian racing team promptly filed an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The following weeks were plagued by speculation and uncertainty which, however, was not able to dent the unwavering fighting spirit and will to win of the team. And Purito demonstrated again just yesterday that he is going to be one of the top riders in 2013 by winning stage four at the Tour of Oman. The team led by Rodriguez will be in action until 16 February in Oman and battling it out for podium places.
Since the beginning of 2012 Canyon has been the official bike supplier to the Russian pro team. Their team bikes are the Aeroad CF, the best bike of the UCI- World Tour 2011 and 2012, the completely redesigned Ultimate CF SLX, which impresses with outstanding values and a dream weight, and also the Speedmax CF, which is one of the fastest and best time-trial bikes in the world. These are all ideal prerequisites in the quest for podium places.
We are really looking forward to our second season with Katusha.
