Katusha Team General Manager Viatcheslav Ekimov said after the Giro d’Italia, “I’m very satisfied with our Giro performance. We decided to support Yuriy Trofimov as team leader and he proved to be a good stage race rider, especially for Grand Tours, so we will be working to support Yuriy Trofimov again in the future. The Katusha Team was experimental but it proved to be very strong and united all race long, and I’m really proud of our results. We had Luca Paolini in pink for four days, and the team worked very hard in order to defend his jersey as long as we could. I’m also very happy with the brilliant victory of Maxim Belkov. So in general, it was a great Giro d’Italia for us and we gained some experience for the upcoming races”.

Yuriy Trofimov explained, “I’m really satisfied with my performance in this Giro. It was my first time as a leader of the team in such a prestigious race and I’m happy with this great experience. It was a very hard race, but Katusha Team was great, united, and very strong. I thank all my teammates for their work and the sacrifices they made for me”.
