Katusha Team’s Norwegian sprinter Alexander Kristoff powered his way to victory in Stage 5 of the 2013 Tour de Suisse on his Canyon Ultimate SLX 9.0 Team. The stage was a tough 176 km ride from Buochs to Leuggern and Kristoff defeated Peter Sagan and Stage 4 winner Arnaud Demare in the uphill sprint.
Katusha Team’s sprint train hit the front and put the powerful Norwegian in the perfect position to win his fifth victory of 2013.
Post-race, Kristoff explained “I’m very happy with this victory. I’m living a great season. I also know today is Independence Day in Russia: I’m happy I gave Katusha Team another reason to celebrate. Once again I have to thank my Katusha teammates: they did a great job, and I was in the best position in order to win. This performance confirms I’m in the good way to top form: obviously my goal is to take part to ‘Tour de France’ at my best, but I still want to make some other good performance here in Switzerland”.
